Learn openProd one task at a time.

Short videos recorded in the real app with demo data. Each one follows a single task, from a supplier file to roles and the audit log.

  1. Tutorial 01

From supplier files to your catalogue: product import in openProd (opens YouTube in a new tab)

Two files from one supplier, a PDF data sheet and a CSV with a weight update, go into the catalogue in five steps. Nothing is written until you click Save to catalog, and every conversion is shown before it happens.

    1. 0:17 Load the files
    2. 0:28 Run the analysis
    3. 0:44 Review the decisions
    4. 1:10 Preview and save
    5. 1:26 Result
  2. Tutorial 02

Import from Excel: one supplier sheet to your catalogue in openProd (opens YouTube in a new tab)

One Excel sheet from a cable supplier, taken all the way into the catalogue. Decide on the product family and two value conversions, preview exactly what will be saved, then write two new products.

    1. 0:14 Load the sheet
    2. 0:29 Run the analysis
    3. 0:45 Review the decisions
    4. 1:07 Preview and save
    5. 1:30 Result
  3. Tutorial 03

Where does each value come from? Show in source in openProd (opens YouTube in a new tab)

Open a decision and use Show in source: the weight comes from row 2 of a CSV update, the material from page 1 of a PDF data sheet. Then decide with the evidence in front of you.

    1. 0:13 Open a decision and show the source
    2. 0:35 A value from the PDF
    3. 0:48 Decide with evidence
  4. Tutorial 04

Change your mind, safely: undo, start over or abandon an import in openProd (opens YouTube in a new tab)

Until you save to the catalogue, every decision can be taken back. Undo a decision, clear all decisions to start the review over, or abandon the import with a note while the catalogue stays unchanged.

    1. 0:12 Make a decision and undo it
    2. 0:29 Start over or abandon the import
  5. Tutorial 05

Inside the product card: history, versions and the assistant in openProd (opens YouTube in a new tab)

Every product lives on its product card: attribute groups with completeness, the history of a single field, full versions you can restore, and the assistant, which points out missing data but never changes it by itself.

    1. 0:13 Find the product and open the card
    2. 0:39 History and versions
    3. 0:55 The assistant
  6. Tutorial 06

From an email to a product: Paste text in openProd (opens YouTube in a new tab)

Not every supplier sends a file. Paste a supplier's email into openProd, check the exact line with Show in source, create the missing attribute, then save and complete the product on its card.

    1. 0:13 Paste the text
    2. 0:25 Run the analysis
    3. 0:36 Review
    4. 0:52 Preview and save
    5. 1:04 Finish on the card
  7. Tutorial 07

From a PDF datasheet to a product (opens YouTube in a new tab)

A supplier sends a one-page PDF datasheet for a new sensor. Load it, run the analysis, review six decisions (the family, a new attribute and conversions) and save a new product, with every value traced back to the page it came from.

    1. 0:10 Load the datasheet
    2. 0:21 Run the analysis
    3. 0:31 Review: family, a new attribute, conversions
    4. 0:50 Preview, save and the product card
    5. 1:08 Wrap-up
  8. Tutorial 08

Your data model, in good order (opens YouTube in a new tab)

A walk through the data model behind every import: attributes and their types, units, dictionaries and families. Then a real fix: an attribute the import placed in a group of its own moves into Technical specifications, and the product keeps its value.

    1. 0:10 Attributes
    2. 0:22 Units and dictionaries
    3. 0:37 Families
    4. 0:49 Tidy up a group and check the card
    5. 1:06 Wrap-up
  9. Tutorial 09

Photos and datasheets on the right product (opens YouTube in a new tab)

A new sensor needs its packshot and its datasheet. Upload both into the supplier's folders in Assets, then set the photo as the product's main image, so it shows on the product card and in the product list.

    1. 0:11 Find the folder
    2. 0:23 Upload the photo and the datasheet
    3. 0:36 Link the photo to the product
    4. 0:50 Wrap-up
  10. Tutorial 10

Many products, one edit (opens YouTube in a new tab)

Number of pins was empty on almost every sensor in the catalogue. Fix them all at once in the Product Canvas: fill the column, correct the exceptions, save once. The version history then shows exactly what changed and how to restore the version before.

    1. 0:11 Open the canvas and spot the gap
    2. 0:30 Fill the column and save
    3. 0:43 Version history
    4. 0:53 Wrap-up
  11. Tutorial 11

Who can change what, and who did (opens YouTube in a new tab)

Create a Catalogue editor role that works on products, the canvas, assets and imports, but leaves applying imports to admins. Invite a colleague with that role, then open the audit log to see every change: what, when, who and from where, field by field.

    1. 0:10 Create a role
    2. 0:20 Choose permissions
    3. 0:32 Invite a user and check the audit log
    4. 0:55 History and wrap-up
